The chat box i.e. Facebook messenger now comes with a pre-loaded new game called Doodle Draw. The game is now available through the app in Messengers overflow menu along with several utility apps. Yes, the game priory needs to be downloaded from Google Play or the app store before using it on Messenger. FB messenger's quest to connect with old and new friends is now expanding to GAMES. Facebook's closest app to a game ever was "Talking Tom", a cartoon avatar to deliver video message. Reportedly, last month an information came up which explained how Facebook actively considered fitting games into Messenger.
Facebook unveiled its chat service API in March and after that Doodle Draw is the first game launched for the messenger. Initially, the social networking site was only interested in content relating tools like the meme generators, sound effect makers and GIF on its Messenger platform. Now, the site seems open to other apps too. There are many rival apps which came after the success of Facebook like WeChat, Hike, Line, Viber and many more. These have hosted number of gamming services for a while. These apps offer their users in other streams when they don't want to use their chatting service. These apps easily generate good revenue out of these different streams.
Chatting and sharing different things online on Facebook is certainly fun, but adding games while chatting works like a cherry on top of the cake. Games on Facebook messenger will defiantly be fun, but this will end up with hundreds of irritating invites and notifications. This is where the app might face a downfall by the users. Probably some might even uninstall. Probably, Facebook should provide an alternative to keep an option for the notification, as such to notify only when the app is used.
